If you sell for a living

Who you are and what you’re worth has nothing to do with what you sell.

If someone says “yes,” it doesn’t make you a better person or intrinsically more valuable.

If someone says “no,” it doesn’t mean you’re bad, worthless, or worse.

By all means, if you’re hearing more “no” than “yes,” get some training and coaching. Work on your skills. Or maybe find a new job.

But remember this. Who you are is not the product of yes divided by no. Who you are is not up to your prospects or clients. What you’re worth is not at the discretion of your boss.

Who you are and what you’re worth are up to you.
